It was slow-going for a looong time, and I hadn't made any new mazes since moving from Dallas to Fort Wayne back in March. But as luck would have it, the editor of the Fort Wayne Monthly magazine stumbled upon my website and wrote me about having an interview. Long story short, I ended up with a four page article dedicated to my mazes in the September issue. Very cool. I've had a ton of feedback from it and everyone seems to like them. If they dont, they certainly stay quiet, which is a good thing for me at the moment, I'm fragile.
So, alright, September came to and end, I was happy for the exposure, but not much more came of it. Then October started... on October 1st, TheToyZone.com wrote a blog article about 18 incredible mazes, 16 of which were my own. I had no idea the article had been written until a few days later, when Ashton Kutcher tweeted about my mazes to his 3.7 MILLION followers! Now instead of being lucky to have someone visit my site, I'm up 1300% in traffic.
Thats not even the most exciting news. Just a couple of days ago I was contacted by one of the largest magazine publishers in the nation. In one of their national publications, they want me to draw simple mazes for them for their activity page. I'm currently drawing several examples to send in to them for review, due by Nov. 6th.
Anyway... I just thought I'd share. I never really expected this to go anywhere... if this keeps going it's going to turn into my career! Maze book, anyone?
